Disclosure: this set was kindly gifted to me by Rose Fulbright for the purpose of featuring on my blog. Information was also provided for me. All views expressed here are completely my own.
Supporting brands that manufacture within the UK is a cause that I’ve become very passionate about. Due to many businesses choosing to outsource their manufacturing to cut production costs and take advantage of underpaid workers, the skills required to produce clothing and lingerie are dying out. Rose Fulbright is a luxury lifestyle brand that is not only based but also produced within the UK. Specialising in loungewear, lingerie and beachwear, the brand is committed to supporting British manufacturers and keeping the traditional sewing history of the UK alive. Working with suppliers near by, they are able to ensure that all products are made ethically, both environmentally and socially, while maintaining a reduced carbon footprint.
Rose was kind enough to to send me a set from the “Classic Collection“, the brand’s debut lingerie line. Inspired by the shapes of 1930’s lingerie, the collection uses a mix of stretch silks and Italian satins in a neutral colour palette of ivory, graphite and blush, creating timeless and comfortable pieces. The collection has two bra styles; firstly an underwired long line balcony bra with a hook and eye front fastening and secondly a non-wired soft cup bra with a key hole front. Two brief styles compliment the bras; a classic hipster and a high waisted knickers.
I received the ivory non-wired bra in size small (32B) along with the high waisted brief, also in a small. The Italian satin is beautifully crafted and feels luxurious. In addition to style and comfort, as there are no underwires in the bra, the whole set is machine washable. However, I found that the items fit a little on the small size due to the fabric having very little stretch. This is their first collection, so while the fabrics and actual finishing of the garments are lovely, I would have been surprised if everything was perfect. I imagine these little niggles will be will be ironed out with future collections. If you are unsure of fit, you can contact the brand directly for advice.
The Classic Collection has been a best seller for three years, however all good things must come to an end and it will be retired after the summer to make space for a new collection! Until then, you can get 40% off. If you are getting married soon and want something timeless to wear on your big day, this set would be perfect!
